Rune Factory 5’s Development Has Been Confirmed

It was an exciting Nintendo Direct presentation today, especially for those who are fans of the Rune Factory series. Not only was a remastered version of Rune Factory 4 revealed, titled Rune Factory 4 Special, but Nintendo also confirmed that the next entry in the series is indeed in development.

It has been almost 7 years since Rune Factory 4 on the Nintendo 3DS, and fans of the series have been calling for a console entry in the series since it last appeared on the Playstation 3 with Tides of Destiny. Rune Factory 5 was rumored to be in development back in 2013, however the series was in limbo after Neverland Co. filed for bankruptcy. The reveal of Rune Factory 5 was short and sweet, revealing nothing more than a title card, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on the latest Rune Factory 5 news as the game’s development continues.

This news really took me for surprise. I thought Rune Factory was dead after the fourth one and that there wouldn’t be any more! Glad to be wrong.

We are definitely happy to see that Rune Factory is alive and well. Seeing it during the Direct was a big shock!
