Nintendo On PETA Hitlist For Milking Mini Game In 1-2 Switch

Not even a family-friendly Switch game is safe from the cross hairs of PETA. Nintendo’s latest mini game compilation, 1-2 Switch, is under fire from PETA, for its portrayal of cow milking in one of their many mini games. In a letter shared on the official PETA Facebook page, President Ingrid E. Newkirk has voiced her outrage of the mini game. Ingrid describes all aspects of the milking process, as well as the cruel conditions cows face, in brutal detail. Check out the letter below:

For those reading on mobile, we’ll paraphrase the meat of the letter below:

To simulate cow milking accurately, 1-2 Switch would need to show all aspects of dairy farming, including the violent insemination of female cows on what the dairy industry itself refers to as a “rape rack”. Cows produce milk to feed their babies, but their young are torn away from them soon after birth so that human beings can use their milk instead. A mother cow will bellow for her calf for days after the baby is taken from her. Perhaps you could add these sounds to your game in order to remind players that by drinking ilk, people support an industry that separates mothers from their babies.

What are your thoughts on this situation? Justified or just plain ridiculous? Let us know in the comments!
