Resident Evil Village Announced

During Today’s PlayStation Future of Gaming digital event the game reveals were coming hot and heavy, and not only from first party studios. Capcom threw their hat in the ring with the reveal of the 8th installment in the storied Resident Evil franchise, titled Resident Evil Village. The game will retain its first person perspective that was introduced in Resident Evil VII, and will also bring back some familiar faces. RE7’s Ethan Winters returns in an all-new nightmare, and will also be joined by series regular Chris Redfield. Resident Evil Village has been long rumoured to include werewolves as enemies, and the trailer all but confirms that to be true, which will be a first in the franchise.

Resident Evil Village is currently in development using Capcom’s RE Engine, and will be releasing on the PlayStation 5, which was revealed during the same digital event, as well as the Xbox Series X and PC via Steam in 2021.
