Playstation Reveals The Dualshock 4 Back Button Attachment

With so many third party options for an “Elite” controller on the Playstation 4, it was only a matter of time before Sony got into the game themselves with a first party solution. They did just that earlier today, announcing the Dualshock 4 Back Button Attachment. Check out the announcement trailer below:

The Back Button Attachment is compatible with all existing Dualshock 4 controllers, fitting into the base of the controller where the 3.5mm audio input is located. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to plug in your gaming headset with the attachment’s audio input.

The attachment includes two programmable back buttons which can be mapped to your liking with up to 16 different functions. These button mappings can be saved across three profiles, using the OLED screen button to interchange between them.

The Dualshock 4 Back Button Attachment will be available in late January 2020 at a price tag of $29.99 USD. Is this attachment a pilot program for a potential Dualshock 5 integration? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
