Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection Revealed
Ryu Hayabusa is returning, not in a new Ninja Gaiden installment but rather in the form of a collection that bundles the Trilogy of modern entries in the long-running series. The collection will include Ninja Gaiden Sigma, which was originally a Playstation 3 port from 2007, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, the Playstation 3 port from 2009, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, the updated version of Ninja Gaiden 3 that came to the Wii U in 2012 and PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013. Check out the announcement trailer for Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection below:
Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection was revealed during Today’s Nintendo Direct, but not only will it be making its way to the Nintendo Switch, but also Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam as well. The collection will include most of the cosmetic DLC costumes that were available during the original releases, however online multiplayer features from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Razor’s Edge will not make its way over to the collection.
Ninja Gaiden began as a 2D side-scrolling series on the Nintendo Entertainment System from 1988 to 1991. The series made a triumphant return in 2004 on the original Xbox with a 3D Ninja Gaiden reboot, which spawned the trilogy being bundled in the Master Collection.
