Tetris 99’s Maximus Cup Event Returns This Weekend With Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

It’s been a while since Tetris 99 has held a Maximus Cup event, but the 20th event since the game’s launch is set for this weekend with the theme of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. The event will run from Thursday, March 4th to Monday, March 8th, with a new theme up for grabs if you manage to accumulate 100 event points.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is an updated version of the 2013 Wii U game, bundled with an ambitious open world expansion. It was released on Nintendo Switch last month. The Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury theme features art, music, and a dynamic background from the expansion. Tetris 99 is free to download to members of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service.
