Super Meat Boy Getting A Physical Release Courtesy Of Limited Run Games

Super Meat Boy will be getting a physical release on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita, all thanks to the folks at Limited Run Games. There is no date set in stone as of yet for when Super Meat Boy will land on the LRG website for pre-ordering, however the Nintendo Switch version can be pre-ordered on Best Buy’s website, with orders shipping out on February 8th.

Why is the game available so soon for the Switch? Limited Run Games had this to say to answer that question:

You may be asking – why did you release this game to Best Buy first? That’s an easy question to answer. Super Meat Boy was originally intended to get a regular retail release from another publisher in 2018. That didn’t pan out, so we stepped in to try and make that happen. Our site Switch schedule is locked tight into Spring, so we had no wiggle room to get this out earlier on our site, but we figured Best Buy would be the perfect avenue to help get this game out closer to when it was supposed to be out!

There is a Collector’s Edition of Super Meat Boy in the works as well, but the contents and details for that have yet to be finalized. We’ll be sure to keep you updated once a potential Super Meat Boy pre-order date becomes available.
