Paper Mario: The Origami King Announced, Coming This July

Paper Mario is making his long-awaited debut on the Nintendo Switch, coming in the form of Paper Mario: The Origami King. Nintendo took to their various Twitter accounts to quietly drop a reveal trailer, which you can check out below:

Fans of Paper Mario have been clamoring for the series to return to its RPG roots, something that hasn’t been done since 2004’s Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and it looks like they may have gotten their wish. The trailer shows flashes of what looks to be a unique spin on turn-based combat, but we’ll have to wait and see once more details emerge.

Paper Mario: The Origami King will be available on Nintendo Switch in just a few short months, with a July 17th release date being announced in the trailer. The game has already hit the Nintendo eShop and is available for pre-order for $59.99 USD or $79.99 CAD.
