Microsoft Acquires Obsidian Entertainment and inXile Entertainment
Microsoft continues to bolster their roster of developers, as they have acquired two more studios with very heavy RPG focuses. During X018 over the weekend it was announced that Obsidian Entertainment and inXile Entertainment were joining the Microsoft umbrella. Obsidian and inXile join the development studios that were acquired earlier this year in June, Playground Games, Ninja Theory, Undead Labs and Compulsion Games, as well as the recently formed developer, The Initiative.

Obsidian Entertainment is most known to gamers for their work on Fallout: New Vegas, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Pillars of Eternity, and their latest game, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. inXile Entertainment have produced titles such as The Bard’s Tale, The Bard’s Tale IV, and The Mage’s Tale
