Major Dark Souls III Announcement Coming Next Week – Could DLC Be On The Way?

Could we be seeing new downloadable content for Dark Souls III in the near future? It seems likely, as the Dark Souls official twitter page posted a cryptic announcement teaser. Although we have to wait until August 24th to hear what the big news will be, DLC seems to be the most obvious answer here.

August 24th marks the exact 6 month anniversary of Dark Souls III‘s initial release, so it seems fitting to announce the first expansion on that day. There was also a season pass option when purchasing the game, so it’s no surprise that this news is coming. There have been rumblings in the past about the Dark Souls III DLC being split up into two parts, unlike the content for Dark Souls II which was split up into three parts.

 

Dark Souls III was released on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Steam back on March 24th 2016, and is a frontrunning candidate for game of the year. We will be sure to update once the announcement is revealed.
