Harvest Moon: Skytree Village Announced For Nintendo 3DS

After jumping into the world of mobile gaming with Seeds of Memories, Natsume is bringing back Harvest Moon to the 3DS with an all-new title, Harvest Moon: Skytree Village. Natsume’s President and CEO, Hiro Maekawa had this to say about the upcoming installment in the Harvest Moon franchise:

After the evolutionary Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley and a successful jaunt to mobile platforms with Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories, we are really excited to share everything we have learned with our fans. Our community is very important to us, and their feedback and input has been taken into account a great deal in the development of Harvest Moon: Skytree Village! We hope they will see and feel their contribution in this new game!

Some of the key features mentioned in the Harvest Moon: Skytree Village press release include new fishing mechanics and techniques such as expanding waterways to catch rarer fish species, and a full town filled with all new bachelors and bachelorettes. It seems likely that Natsume will look to build on the Minecraft-style terraforming gameplay, while filling in some of the missing components from previous games (a town!). Be sure to check back in a couple weeks as we’ll have a hands-on preview of Harvest Moon: Skytree Village from E3!
