Gears 5 Release Date Announced

Gears 5 is set to release on September 10, 2019. As per Microsoft’s Xbox E3 2019 Briefing, we can expect to be playing the next chapter in the Gears saga by Christmas of this year.

Gears 5 looks to be continuing the story of 2016’s Gears of War 4. The fourth game in the series took place years after the conclusion of the original trilogy, with players taking on the role of J.D. Fenix, son of the protagonist of the of the first three games. However, this time around it appears that the story will focus on Kait Diaz, a character first introduced as a squad member (and friend of J.D.) in Gears of War 4. She takes front and centre on both the box art (pictured above) and the trailer shown at the E3 Briefing.
